What the point of those pictures are to show the fact that the Christianity a lot of non Christians see and the Christianity that I and other Christians on this board see are two completly different things...

Once again Elliot, I don't ignore you and I couldn't agree more with what you said.

Clairey wrote:
and with islam. i dont think anyones checking up on you. like i could become a muslim and not pray towards mecca or whatever. what are they gonna do, kick me out?

They wouldn't kick you out, but you wouldn't be muslim either Razz , Islam IS following those rules.

I guess what's confusing you (and what confused me for a period of time) is that there are pretty much two types of Christianity, I'm not talking Protestant and Catholic, I'm talking those who follow God because they feel like they have to because they want to go to heaven, and those who want to. For sake of general interpretation, I'll call them religious and non-religious. I know it's hard after 7 years of having "Being Christian is religious" being banged into your head all through primary school with nothing to tell you otherwise to change this way of thinking because a bunch of your friends (or enemies) tell you otherwise and you're probably thinking what do they know?

It is one thing to believe in God and do what the bible says, but it isn't the same as having a relationship with God. That means going to church and praising and worshiping and praying not because you feel like you have to, but because you want to. People that have a relationship wiht God can feel his presence and his touch.

I'm sorry, it's hard to explain, you sort of have to see it in action to understand it completely.

Take it this way. If i went to a catholic church or a boring church like the ones matt pointed at where nothing happens, I wouldnt be a christian and wouldnt take interest.

edit: i just saw joshes post and im going to add something.

You rememeber Reggie Dabbs dont you!?!?!?!?!?!?!

He came to our school in like year 9. Now I think of it it was sooo weird, he is like the biggest celebrity our school has had but no one really remembers him or even knew him. He didn't talk about being Christian and stuff, but remember how he made Mr Hopf get up and do that dance.

*does driving car gangstah move, Reggie is big and black*
A *something something* party
Is a drug free party
Cause a drug free party don't stop
UGH!

and there was the

The roof!
The roof!
The roof is on fire!
Never trust the devil
Cause the devil is a liar!

And then Josh remembers that you weren't at our school in year 9...

He might have a webpage or something if you wanna read about him, dont have to, thought just suddenly occured to me... and I know you probably wont.

And he isn't about making Christianity cool (just seemed like that was what you were thinking), he's about making people feel better about themselves and for themselves (like the drug free party thing, it wasn't about God, it was about the kids). He's kind of like a motivational speaker for God. It just so happens that he is very good, has a very good story to tell and is big and black, as one of the guys at my church said, the black preachers are always better (hey, everyone was thinking it and he's black so he's allowed to say it).

i haven't really paid much attention to thoih really, not concentrating i suppose. it all goes back to when i saw josh's avatar and decided that i want a mario outfit...

but yeah, the way i see my christianity, is similar to the way i see romantic relationships. you talk to them, you see them, you think about them, talk about them, because you love them. so you pray, go to church, worship, evangelise, not because it's your 'duty' to do those things, but because you love god. and coz i'm a soldier in christ, i also do it to attack the enemy. take ground.

i hate explaining... so many bad modern history memories.

and i don't like trying to explain myself. as in, who i am. i dunno... i know myself intimately, i finally have my identity worked out, thoroughly, and the whole thing really only adds up to about 4kB.

i'm not all that complicated, yet when i try to explain myself i just end up all over the place.

Should Claire come back here, all I have to say is...

Give it a go Claire, it may seem strange and silly to you now, but if you give it a go, and never shut your mind, NEVER shut your mind to God, good things will happen. Claire, give God a go.

Yeah, I can't wait... I'm going to take a different attitude this time. I'm more going there to meet up with friends that I havent seen in months, or even a year. Worship my God and not feel compelled to sponsor a kid or buy some merch
