ok, i don't mean for this to be anywhere near the other one... but here goes.

something i just wrote about in the music section, about the amount of music written about/for love... it's prompted me to remind youse of the importance of the stuff.

the biggest religion in the world is based on the teachings of a man that told us all to love each other. "love thy neighbour.", "love one another as i have loved you.", "john 3:16." (3:16 are the words of christ)

articles of music, poetry, drama, even architecture of pretty much every era in history speak of or were inspired by love.

if asked what i would most like from the world, you'd get that i only really want someone to love, and to love me in turn. if i was given that, i'd be truly happy. no amount of gold or silver, only love.

now i could go on all day, about, "i have a dream" and television and movies and everything, all about love, but i think you get the idea.

before anyone says, 'but you CAN love a thing, like money,' i will beg to disagree... but if that comes up, we'll deal with it.

seriously, regardless of whether you're an art appreciative, a christian, or a T.V. critic, you can surely see how common the topic of love is. love is...

a bit of revelation there, but this is AA.

Its been a while since I've gotten the chance to be the first reply to a thread Very Happy

Love is an amazing thing. Its no wonder that so much has been written or made about it.

There's nothing better in the world knowing that you have someone to look after you. Someone that cares for you. Someone that will be with you every step of the way through the good and the bad. I love how its not all a one way street either. You can care for someone, have a deep connection with them and just want to spend your time with them.

While hating on someone can be fun sometimes (steve) nothing compares to making someone feel appreciated, making them feel loved. While its an amazing experience to find that someone cares for you, its almost just as good as letting someone else know that you care for them.

I think about little things like what Adam and Josh are both doing for their 6 month anniversarys and it brings a smile to my face.

I love our group to death. Such different diverse people that all bring something new. Wilkins has already covered pretty much all there is to our group in one of the best posts i've ever seen. I echo so many of his sentiments, i love you guys!

Now I'm not too sure what the total aim of this thread was... But people, imagine a world without love. Its not a place where you would want to be. Love is one of the most amazing emotions and experiences that you can have. What I've said hasn't even scraped the surface of how big of a thing love is. Elliott has summed it up beautifully. There is nthing else that you could want.

I LOVE LOVE!
:p

Elliot and my Mittens - you both summed it up great.

The best thing about loving a person is being loved in return.

The best thing about loving a material thing is the fact that it makes you happy.

I love being in love because I know that it's not a one-way street, like Shane said.

hm, strange and irrelevant.

i keep on being reminded of starwars by everything.

i think... that the enormity of love can only be expressed in comparison to the enormity of God. i was just sort of putting it that (other) way for the benefit of people who like money.[/quote]

i thought this thread needed expanding, because i think it has important things to say still.

i've been about as happy as i've ever been, based on consistency and everything, i think... that indeed, i am as happy as i've ever been. i mean, there have been a few things that have sort of made me stop and hate the world for a little while, but i was back on top of everything in no time.

and i wondered why: why i'm so happy, it wasn't a sudden thing, and it goes back about two weeks before youthcamp, when so many of us got smacked around by god. it didn't really click until i remembered myself listening, really listening to the words of this elvis tune, 'a thing called love.'... love is powerful. love has the power to end war, stop world hunger, and, yes, make me happy. happier than i've ever been.

just because i took the step, to get to know people better. so i started hanging around penny's mob, listening to people, noticing what they did, and in accordance with the will of God, i fell in love with so many of them... not silly little teenage boy love, but with the love of the Father. not lust (sorry fellas), but a truly deep friendship. and i've never felt anything like it for another person...

i think i've really opened up, so to speak, over the last few weeks. life shouldn't be about loving one other person only, as man and wife, but about loving all.

maybe you're one of the people, like i used to be, that thinks it's great fun to go on hating, but you know what? love is good. i've heard people say, that God is love. it's got that sort of incomprehensible purity as the trinity. so love is good, pure good...

...

and we've all heard, too, that you can never have too much of a good thing.

He means the topic at hand.

I believe Love is undefinable. A bit like God in that way i think, undefinable, but then again, God is Love, Love is God, i've always kinda thought that in some ways they are one and the same. No-one can truly live without love, i've seen people who've tried to live without it, deprive themselves, it's horrible, you can see it in there face, it's really very sad to behold. Just my opinion, not asking anyone to agree.
