PostPost subject: The Bible Reply with quote

jesus music wrote:
The bible was inscribed over a period of two thousand years, in times of war and days of peace. By kings, physicians, tax collectors, farmers, fisherman, singers and shepherds. The marvel is that a library so perfectly cohesive could have been produced by such a diverse crowd over a period of time which staggers the imagination. Jesus is it's grand subject. Our good is the design and the glory of God is it's end.

i heard this in a casting crowns song, and it got me thinking, what an awesome book we have here. the fact that there is such a harmony between the old testament and the life of christ is mind-blowing, just read psalm 22, or chapter 53 of the book of isaiah.

imagine if it turned out that the life of ghandi and his followers had been written out, almost a thousand years previously by more than thirty different people. people with no education, no historical training. upon realising the implications of this, the existence of an ethereal source of inspiration, the world would be shaken to it's foundations.

awesome.
