i know its been done to death ... and you all must be quite sick to death of it but umm ... i just need to vent some feelings

half of you wont read the whole thing anyway Very Happy

so i've been thinking a lot lately about what love is, what it means to me and if in fact there is such a thing a true love and how do you know if you have found it

i think i have

spare me the rararahaha about how im not even 17 and you cant possibly be in love at that age..... rubbish

im not entirely sure how to define love .... but i know that love is the strongest feeling you can have ... its stronger that hate ... much stronger .. to me love is an absolute devotion to another and there is nothing better than that

ever.

i've come to the realisation that i am in fact IN love

its something i know i have never felt before
and its something i dont know whether i will feel again

at the moment love is ..... everything

its what i feel
its what i think
its how i am

and its beautiful <3

at the moment ive learnt that love at our age is all in friendship. Over the last few days ive been through some stuff and yea when you really realise you love a friend in a friendly way not even the amount of anger, hatred and abuse that I have can stand up to it, it gets completely shut down.

I think love is

caring for somebody
helping that person when their down
having a damn good chat
spending time with them
mucking around
knowing the person inside out
and doing things for them that they appreciate

Just generally being there no matter what happens, what the situation is and not judging them.

spot on benny... without meaning to sound spiteful or anything, i reckon anyone who says they're 'in love' at our age is fooling themselves.

that feeling ben's talking about, i honestly think it can't be beat without getting god involved... so i try and aim for that in all my friendships. nothing else i've had even comes close... taht was the motivation behind that thread i wrote, i'll bet it was the same with the ones benny and wilkins wrote too.

I agree with Ben... I think some people get mixed up with "knowing the person inside out ". They think that knowing the person inside out " means knowing their insides, if you know what I mean Wink

hahahahaha yes i get you Razz

But I think it is possible to perhaps fall in love at our age but its not very likely at all. But that doesn't mean you can't love someone, love is doing the hardyards with another person its just not all fun. But in the end thats what builds love. No amount of sweettalk and physical interaction will ever be so good.

What does age have to do with love anyway?

To me, they are both completely seperate.

A wise man once told me there are three kinds of love, I think they were:

Love for a Partner
Love for Family
Love for God

No not really...

Friendships don't need "LOVE", whereas family, partners and God do.

Not saying that friendships dont demand something supermassive, just saying that it's different to love.

OR maybe there was a fourth one I forgot about Razz

I'd probably say that I agree with the three types of love.

1. That lovey dovey kissy huggy caring type of love with a partner.
2. The 'loving your neighbour' type of love with friends and family.
3. And God.

But yeah.. thats just my thoughts anyhow.

well, ancient greeks had four words for love. eros, sexual affection, philia, profound friendship, agape, godly love, and storge, which is love among family.

i figure you get combinations, a man and wife could have all four, i guess... but yeah.

i think that it's necessary to make a distinction between family and friends... the feeling i have for say, penny, isn't really interchangeable for the one i have for my dad, or sister.

Yeah I think you guys had it more exact than me, I couldn't quite remember exactly what they said.

I heard the Greek thing before too, it's all very intriguing, but lets all remember that above all else, All you need is love...

And God is love.

love gets responses.

which could possibly lead into a huge dosthe-rant about how love is also being commercialised, or to save time i could just declare that i'm too lazy.

and because i've nowhere else to put it, as far as stab eliza week goes, i guess that's not only a load of shit, but it's practically begging people to take it literally.

Elliot, you need to read my English speech, love gets responses was pretty much one of the cores, quote something like

"You mention poetry in a grade 12 english class and everyone moans, but when you mention love, teenagers start to listen"

But do you find love interesting? According to the other threads which you have posted countless times in I would have to say yes.

In contrast, you'd be more likely to listen about love than poetry.

Nice work there Kate and Walters...

Hey, why do you think that Walters doesn't even care about us anymore? Why does he never ever come down any more?
