well, after i got my mp3 doo-hickey, i adopted it for walking. this could go in simple pleasures, but whatever...

there are a few songs out there, that have just the right beat and tempo to walk to, i find that a few of them lined up can turn a journey into a sort of crazy linear-dance that gets you somewhere.

in order of favourites.

jump around - planetshakers.
redeemer - planetskakers
shout it out! - planetshakers. the old favourite, but i accidently played it too much and ruined it.
tell the world - united live
follow - planetshakers
creed - third day
great and mighty - planetshakers

almost all of the more up-beat third day and elvis tunes are good to walk to, but not AS good, there either slightly too slow or slightly too fast... which means dawdling and skipping every other track...

musical diversity? i could listen to the same three songs all day, God would make them diverse just by the way they make me feel.

I find that no matter my mood, some good mid-tempo angry music makes me feel better.

[edit: to chris. yer aye, i get that too.]

once upon a time toxicity did that for me... but looking back, system of a down ruined me mentally.

but yeah, as i've said to eliza, it's the slower stuff that does it for me, particularly The Stand. that song... it leads me to a train of thought that inevitably gets to the cross, penny's youtube cartoons, how i've seen God working in all of us, and ultimately 'every good gift comes from God'.

and then, happy tears. god's answer to me getting sick of The Chills... yeah, shame on me, but it got me a change, didn't it?

ps: on the topic of happy tears, has anyone actually read that post i put in the blog section? i mean, under the heading, 'unforeseen consequences' anything could happen...

Stuff that creates atmosphere the world in a destroyed state, with nothing but bodies all over the place and nod soldiers walking through a destroyed city. Anything that creates that feel I will take for walks. Also music where you feel as if a huge plot to takeover the world is about to unfold. That sorta music owns Razz

I like the 'plot to take over the world' feeling that you've got there... send me some!

I always love playing some catchy new song that you've got stuck in your head for walking. But when all else fails then either some really happy fun dancey music or some 'angry ra ra-ish' music always works well.

And walking around with comfort you or something ambient would absolutly pwn at night.

Really brutal death metal does the trick.. I walked through the gringos at one stage when I listened to all of my secular death metal... They started walking towards me and suddenly Hammer Smashed Face by Cannibal Corpse started playing.... I saw all colours of red and would of killed them if they started on me.

It all depends on the atomosphere around you. Time of day and if your alone or not

EDIT: Rammstein is good walking music, Its (kinda) the same. Normal Industrial music... It has the "cmon fellas, lets get from point A to point B quickly" feel to it... I quite like it
