its been, warnie this, warnie that... ever since i saw it on telly. well i've had enough, mcgrath is quite simply a legend, i've never heard of anyone bowling 8-30, and it's pretty damn hard for any 40ish year old to bowl so consistently, so economically, for so long.
i'm quite sure we would have the the ashes last series too, if mcgrath had of been fit for the second test.
then there's langer, consistently opens for anywhere between 40 and 120 runs to his name. |

It was 8-38 in the Lords test in 1998.
Shane Warne is more important that Glenn McGrath because he has personality. McGrath as a person is boring. Langer and Martyn don't even get mentioned without also mentioning Hayden, or when they're at the crease.
Where's McGrath's 700?
It will be a long time before anyone legitimately gets 700. (Anil Kumble will be the next legit one)
Langer and Martyn don't count because they're just players. Aside from the last run, they haven't been consistently in the team. _________________ "Knowledge is power, so everybody download some more eBooks" - WBB

And no he's not. He's the only one with it publicised. What happens on tour, stays on tour. _________________ "Knowledge is power, so everybody download some more eBooks" - WBB

Actually Glenn McGraths highest was 8/24 against Pakistan at the WACA
Shane Warne was a legend of the game because before he came to cricket the art of legspin was all but dead... He revived it, and quite frankly cricket was a sport that old people and knitters watched. Now young people, old people and hookers now watch it..He revived sledging and bough charisma and personality and fun to the game where before it was bordom.
Anil Kumble, Ive seen him play on TV a fair bit, and by golly gosh Anil Kumble is hardly mentioned, he is far better than Stuart MacGill when it comes to leg spin, and Anil Kumble has the 2nd best bowling figures in test history, 2nd to only England off spinner Jim Laker who got 19/91 I think against Richie Benaud's Aussie team in I think it was 1952...
Glenn McGrath is shall I say.. underrated... I am surprised he did not make it into the Richie Benaud's Greatest XI (whoever wants to watch the DVD, ask me). Glenn, I reckon is 2nd to only the great Dennis Lillee in the pace bowling ranks.. Dennis is un arguably the greatest pace man of all time, no doubt, but do what Glenn does over 105 (i think so) tests, is quite astonishing.. There has been really good bowlers like Walsh, Hadlee, and those West Indian bowlers of the 1980's to the mid 1990's deserve a mention too.. but Glenn is up there...
Having that been said, Shane and Glenn have been awesome for Cricket
