Its not to make your gf slash the person you like, love you anymore, its just to let them know that their special and appreciated and or loved. I felt really good when I gave becky my valentines present.

i was using sarcasm, you silly!

other than that, it is actually the subconscious reason for giving gifts. look up game theory, it's like capitalism but with the added dimension of the human mind.

I admit the consumerism part was a but stupid on my behalf, but I commend chris because of 'coins' being involved, but other than that I agree with what Shane's had to say entirely.

trust me giving gifts is not the answer

i hated it when all michael did was buy my expensive jewellery, flowers and whatnot when that wasnt what i wanted from own relationship

im a simple girl .... i like simple things .... i find beauty in the smallest most intimate movements of two people together

i believe what adam and debbie have is beautiful .... its so simple yet so amazing

that is what i think love is

love is not materialistic
love is not sex

love is knowledge of a person
love is being in sync with someone else's movement
love is caring about someone without having to tell everyone about it

not too relevant ... but um yeah i had to say it

Wow.... Thank you Kate, that was really nice.... really really nice. But I think you've pretty much summed a lot of things up right there, I have nothing more that I could possibly add.

i'd like to once again bring up something that pisses me off about people today. the insistence that 'love' denotes a romantic relationship.

Nice post there Kaity McKaitington though. I think you really nailed it.
Some couples have just got to slow down and apprecaite what they've got and not always wonder what is going to happen next. Its fun and all to look to the future... but enjoy life as it is Very Happy

i wasnt implying that love was meant for romantic relationships

just applying it to the case here

i love a lot of things/people ... not romantically but like as a special bond

thats what im trying to say and i have said before

sorry kate, i get what you're trying to say, but with that stuff in mind... weren't you saying a few posts back that love isn't materialistic? i dunno, love for things escapes me. there's no fun in an inanimate object, maybe in what you do with it.

with the rest of my ideas on love, i suppose i could say that i love myself for my matches, knife, and fiddle. see how it works?

It'd be classed as an infatuation, or fascination.

agree shara, chris.

i think, using the bluntest of language (for that special effect that you only get with blunt things, like hammers), that people who think they love things are deluded.

you're not implying anything about hammers, are you chris? because i never actually said anything about loving them, just that they're better than guns at close range and when being searched by coppers.
