Techno seems so influenced by drugs, plus the effect of techno whilst you're on drugs seems to be pretty fun Razz. But, i've been in a bit of a techno mood and I dont know, there just seems to be a huge thing about drugs in techno, plus aids. I dont particularly get it. A lot of techno i've heard having something to do with extacy (the drug I assume) and aids.

Dont do Drugs...
Are you on extacy

etc... thats all I can remember, but yeah. I just seem to think techno has got a lot of drug references...

In before lock I guess.

I think so as well
Like think about it... the music industry itself is still moderatly influenced with drugs, a fair few musicians still use or have used drugs at one point in their life. Imagine how many people have written songs about past experiences or possibly while high.

The feeling that techno gives a person is not the feeling that you can experience with any other type of music.

It gives you a rush, it gives you this massive feeling inside of you. It can makes you happy, it can makes you lose control of thought, it can makes you do some rather stupid things. It just gives you a rush.

Those feelings that i just mentioned.... Those are feelings that you can obtain through drugs.

If you take both a compatible drug and a compatible song... Imagine the feeling that you would get, imagine the intensity of what you would feel. The music, the people, the lights, the bass, the atmosphere... You're mind kicking into overtime as you just lose control...

Techno is heavily influenced by drugs in one manner or another IMO Smile

Personally im a huge fan of techno. I love the stuff and yes I've noticed alot of the songs encourage drug use / sex and i agree with shane on the topic of techno giving a rush. It makes you go uhns uhns uhns repeatedely. It mainly only occurs in the bigger artists and I just ignore alot of those songs anyway, I still got ones that mention drug use but its not that bad.

Alot of techno is different to your normal music that's why I like it, theres practically infinite possibilities to what you can use as an instrument. Although that then branches into trance/ambient music which is sometimes classed as a sub category of techno or very similar genre. But minus the occassional dodgy song title and lyric its the best type of music out there I think Smile Big fan

well yeah... i think its just like that because sex, music and drugs are a lot of the essence of life for many people... at one point it was for me too, but now its more like just music out of those three. Being high and music is a fantastic feeling, just think about it when you hear a song you like and it makes you feel alive, then times it by 10 if you listen to it while intoxicated on something. You start to feel the music inside you and just move the way you think the music moves...

i guess its great while its there... but drugs always fuck you up hardcore in the end.... try not to learn this the hard way.... *i feel like mr garrison*

i never really understood music... i mean, it makes me feel as much as the next person, but yeah, why music? there's plenty of other stuff out there that gets me going, flowing with impulses (i'm aware that that's an oxymoron, shutup.), just yeah...

maybe... maybe that drugs+music thing is like what happens when you get that music+god thing. just look at bloody norman whenever praise and worship is on, he just gets into it. other folks do too, but he really stands out. but yeah, i feel it during praise... just you sort of feel rather than hear. that's my experience anyway... sorry for a pretty dodgy bunch of posts, many of which in the wrong spot/completely random...

yes well music is just something that influences our life the most, and sound is the sense with the most emotion linked to it... not everyone gets like that with music, but most people do... makes people feel alive because when the music is playing its like life isnt there and all that exists is you and the music.... i dont know about other people, but it just makes me happy, and thats important to me.
