Ok. Here goes.

As you all know I was feeling like total crap today, I had to go home because of my ill health. I was weak in my joints, I had a huge as headache, my stomac I went home today and layed in bed and just layed there thinking. Suddenly there was a thought in my head that said to me "pray for those people who you said you would pray for".. So out of obedience I did. Literally I suddenly became better. I stood up and noticed this and stopped praying. God said to me "Don't stop! Continue praying" So I prayed for others and different circumstances. And literally God, in a 20 minute period restored me to almost full health.

Praise the Lord for this. Remember that when you say your going to pray for somebody. Do it!

yeah... i find the feeling of having something lifted from you motivation enough from obediance.

i don't apply it nearly as often as i should, i somehow forget that when it's time to obey something good happens at the end of it. i guess i ought to pray against that... help me out?

there are a shitload of songs out there, christian songs... alot of them say, 'i will'. you say, 'i will follow you,' or, 'i'm taking up my cross', it's a chance to make god a promise rather than just repeating words mechanically.

Well, similar story for me today...

I woke up feeling absolutely terrible.. my throat was hurting, nose was blocked, headache, eyes ached, whole body ached actually.. I had a shower, went blind again... (that happens sometimes)...

I was laying on the couch crying 'cause I felt so bad... and then something clicked and I said, "That's it, gotta pray."
So I did, I prayed for God to make me feel better. And within a few minutes, I felt better. The only thing wrong with me now is my eyes still feeling odd, and my back hurts a bit.
But other than that, all good.

After of course. Something tells me you think I'm faking this, or copying Wilkins. But the truth is, whilst feeling sick, I remembered about how Wilkins was feeling sick and I just felt like I should pray. Plus people always tell me to give all my problems to God. So I did.

The Psychological Theory - it's all in your mind?

yeah, it's all in your head.

like when i see norman shivering and whisper, at range, for him to 'stop being cold by the authority of the name of christ' and i go up, he's not cold anymore.

like when i command a gale to stop blowing, or to blow in the same direction as i'm walking, to propel me along. i find they respond best to compass markings, so it only worked for me when i told it to change to a westerly. is that a trick of the mind?

like when people in areas that have never recieved the gospel are slain in the spirit by passing missionaries, dozens at a time. or when they recieve visions of christ, and driven by their experience of god's love are compelled to seek him out. yeah, the natives and missionaries have never laid eyes on one another, yet a dozen of them all know to fall down simultaneously. another psychological abnormality?

i've been through all of that and more, i can't conclusively disprove a single one.

you decide on christianity, on the power of god, after you've experienced it, not before. because we can argue all day about why christianity is right, but it comes down to this.

Yeah good point.

I was very much the same, very skeptical, is everyone just copying each other, I'm still a bit like that with tongues to that point that I just don't want them.

But yeah, it's definitely not the placebo effect. That's not something we can prove to you though, you need to experience it.

It's OK to be skeptical, I mean the more skeptical you are before you are saved, the more amazing it is afterwards. There just has to be a point where you make that decision.

And the Bible actually tells you to question what you're reading or hearing, not just to blindly follow it.

A wise man once said to me that you can't be a good Christian without doubts, they are natural, without which you are just following with blind faith, I don't know about you but I like to have my eyes open.

i watch everything that happens in church with a skeptical eye, but i've had too many 'experiences' with scripture to doubt it, doubt in god.

i find that i live life at its best with my eyebrows raised...

You can't be that alert all of the time, sometimes you just need to trust.

yeah, but when alertness fails...

Quote:
There are four hundred neatly marked graves somewhere in Sicily. All because one man went to sleep on the job. But they are German graves, because we caught the bastard asleep before they did.

this time i was the sleeping bastard... i'll be fine though, just a fleshwound, a few days R&R and i'll be back on the front line for payback.

alertness fails enough times, you WILL get hit, more often than not in spiritual warfare you get back up, more often than not stronger than before... but yeah, i need some R&R...
