Okay, well I spoke about this with Norman and he thinks it's a good idea (as he would)...

I was thinking about our praise & worship sessions at youth, and I really can't just settle with two a week. So how's about we have one at school too? To get us through those dreary days.

What I was thinking is that we could have it on a Tuesday at first break, so that we have an even spacing between P&W sessions.

Of course, I'm not going to organize it if no one is going to turn up, so I want to know who's up for it?
I'd pull some strings and get Ms Leonard to let us book the music room every Tuesday first break. I really don't see any reason why she wouldn't let us.

And the only difference between school and youth? We'd have to keep the music at a not-ear-busting level and we can sit around and pray if we want. Hahaha.

I'm not getting my hopes up btw... so you can help it backfire all you want.
Thanks.

The only thing I'd really have to get organized IF people want it is lyric projections.

I know that.
But I'm cool, you see? So... it has a higher chance of working.
Although... a few of you can barely stand me so...

Do not pity yourself and attempt to get others to do it. You gain nothing.

Like Chris said, tried and done before (Even I heard about it). I overheard Vicki mention the things you guys do at school, and she said it fails because you don't have the leadership behind it from the church. That's why Thursday nights were a bit iffy when they first started, and we were going to have it at Ben's on a Wednesday night. This is really something you should talk to with Vicki and Geoff about to get their opinions.

One thing Vicki told me when I called her up about starting Thursdays was that by making it a regular event, you're taking away from the church and the leadership's protection and authority. There's nothing stopping you from doing it, but remember that you'll be out on your own, and if previous experience is any example, it will fail after a month.

Another thing she said was that there's things already in place for growth (so to speak). You've got P&W on Sunday morning at church and there's a prayer meeting on Tuesday and Fridays, so make use of them before you go and make new things without the approval of the leaders.

But hey, I think it's great you're trying to get more out of P&W, I'm just saying what I was told when Thursday started. Also, you can have your own time on Tuesday night, it won't be with others but what's to stop you singing, you still have that intimacy with Him. (Which you should have every day anyway)

Always assuming the worst isn't going to get you too far. Even stating negative facts, it's still pessimism.

You're not going to get very far with pessimism. Try turning that frown upside down!

if you're gonna run meetings at school, you oughta have that 'chaplain' handy for it. he's a great guy, but i only ever saw him once at school, so it seems he needs a bit of tracking down.

that's pretty much why i thought it failed too, lack of leadership. sure we said, 'let the spirit lead us', but the truth is that none of us are at the stage where we can say we've completely surrendered to god, and i can't remember where i was going with this...

get the chaplain, or the vicki, or even miss schroder - who i'd call a pretty mautre christian, pretty much everythig she does reflects this - but get some leadership in the meeting... if nothing else, pick a leader from amongst yourselves.

*note. eliza, i've had a gutful of hearing about how everyone hates you, it doesn't matter. you can be rejected by many, as long as you're accepted by One.

I only used that as a point on why some people may not want to support the idea.
