I’ve been thinking about this little topic for a long time now… since Debbie and I had our little talk a couple of days ago 
All of my “relationships with my two ex girlfriends were not built on love at all… I have no idea what they were on but certainly not love…
Take my relationship with Becky for example. I was loving towards her; I really did try to be a good boyfriend to her. But she was totally judgemental of me and did not look past my short comings and just threw me on a pile of shit like a rag. Nobody is perfect, not even Becky (certainly not her). If she actually cared about me, then she would of looked past my short comings, and persisted with me and tried to make something of it and fix it up. But she didn’t. Love is about accepting people unconditionally and non judgementally for who they are, and looking past their insecurities and short comings. Quite frankly it was not a two way street. And love is a two way street, one person can not be doing all the work and another just sitting back and enjoy the ride. If one person is doing the “hard yards” and one sitting back, then that is not love, that is selfishness. Love is not selfish. And two people in “love” certainly do not lie to one another. In order to have a proper and open relationship you, ahhh must be well... Open. Duh! And certainly no lies and deception. Defiantly not on the lines of keeping your “lover” hanging by their balls whether you want to throw them on the shit pile or not. If you want to tell them to piss of… do it as quickly as possible, and have one story that you want to stick to. The relationship should not always be full on serious, allow to have some laughter, and no that does not mean having sex with somebody else.

So bottom line… if you have a “lover” that so happens to be not as perfect as you, then fucking hell, look past their short comings and accept them and love them as for who they are and look at the things that made you like them to begin with, and DON’T FOCUS ON THE NEGATIVES!!! You both need to put effort in to make it work, just ask the people that have an awesome goings on

agree. focus on the negatives you'll only get one result and guess what, it's negative. focus on the positives, and you'll find that your other person just gets better and better.
little story.
i used to get to hating people pretty easily. just one or two comments below the belt, you're gone. claire and her 'crew' were among these people, but recently, i've just tried to ignore all the stuff about 'em that gets on my nerves. it works, its almost to the point where i think i could stand to be in the same place as any of them. |
