Are you sick of it being thrown around like an STD too!? Hah, perhaps probably a wrong similie,..... we'll go with "frizbee". But seriously too many people are throwing the word around like they would a tennis ball during the traditional game of mugby.
What are your thoughts about it?
Mine are, it should only be used when you sincerely mean it. Often I think people are blinded by love and easily mistake it for infactuation, but genereally dont know the terminology of them both.... Here goes, another failing thread... but you're input'll be good I guess.

words are shit... i hate them. i hate the word, "like" myself. its messed up, but to me, if i say to a girl, "i like you" it means the opposite to hating her.
i think alot of of words are overused, like fuckcuntshitlove. those words should be saved, otherwise they get ruined. see, this might be why i do all of my communication telepathically. |

I think what a lot of people get confused with is love and lust, crushes are not love and going out with someone dosent make you in love with them.
Love has to come from deep within, it developes over time and grows as you learn about each other. There are more than one definition of the word "Love". Love in a 40yr marriage can be very different to teenage flings.
Anyway thats just a bit of my opinion...

i've decided: i hate teenagers. it's sort of a pre-emptive decision, and without consequences atm as i am still a teenager myself. next year, however, i qualify for young-manliness, a level up from teenager... then the hate begins...
love and quality are pretty closely joined together somehow, i think. take quality, you can't really define it, but you innately know it when you have it. what makes one novel better than another? its not a distinct set of rules, but you can still gather people up, and a poll can reveal pretty well which novel (i mean the writing in it, people!) is of better quality. love has no distinct set of rules, but you still, somehow know it when you feel it.
meh, reckon i've earned meself a salute.

And thats is honestly the best way to go, although you will start wondering if you really mean it.. or start to wonder what it feels like, that is where it gets tricky.

lets see what the ancient greeks had to say: they had four different words for love, philia, agape, eros, storge. Philia is profound friendship, a deep affection. Agape is charitable love, doing, acting and thinking for the sole benefit of the other person; think, "for god so loved the world...". Eros is sexual love. Storge is familial love, but isn't really relevant to my argument, what with incest and such. anyway, i reckon the ideal kind of boy/girl love should include philia, agape, and eros, preferably in that order... yeah, i think i've nailed it there...
i've never had it, but i know a few that do. a few older couples at church, a few younger couples at church... funny that, hey?
i have a hunch, also, that love comes after fear. can't really explain it right now, might write about it (extensively) on hols. |

Yeh i know what your saying... and ive been in the situation where i have said i love you without meaning and all... but yeh - its like sorta different with liz, ever since we knew each other we had this connection and stuff and like even before we were going out we talked for like 5 hours a time on the phone... and since ive gotten to get to know her more intimately ive like grown on it - and for ages i never said it... and said to myself i would only say it if i mean it! And now im saying it! I guess that means i really mean it! |
