I wanted to be there tonight, but yeah got home about 7:30 and very tired from a big day, I didn't forget you though, I prayed for tonight.

That's also what we gotta start doing, just praying. Don't make it ritual (ie every night you HAVE to do 10 minutes), just when you think of it, pray. Pray for certain things that are coming up, pray for certain people who need help.

Which brings me to asking to be prayed for, don't be ashamed, no one will think you are weak if you ask for prayer. I asked for prayer at pring st a few weeks ago because of stress and stuff (stuff that i usually try to pretend doesnt get to me around you guys) and yeah it was like this burden just got lifted off of me.

So yeah, if you read this before saturday night, pray for youth alive and for the people going.

Oh and Shara, do you wanna come to youth alive?

and i have been... and i'm sure i'm not alone.

but yeah, we need to get in that habit. i'm not really at the moment, i sort of had been concentrating on reading and learning stuff, basically overlooked prayer... but that came to light for me a few ngihts ago.

I hate to be Captain Killjoy but...

Matthew 6:7-the end of the prayer.
I was talking about this with Shane and I'm not sure what to think or do.

well... i went through my reading of that passage with ol' mate gifthorse.

why do the hypocrites pray in the synogogues? to be seen by men.

you pray to be heard, in faith of an answer from god, to honor god.

i'm guilty of deliberately sneaking words of instruction and pieces of scripture i intend people to hear and digest during prayer, though i'm not sure if that's something you can be guilty of yet...

yeah... it always happens that way...

'if i have not love, it profiteth me nothing.'

see, you get nailed by God, and if you don't start giving something back the effect wears off. happens to everyone, happened to me for a long time before i figured it out. the parable of the talents...

i've been feeling the need to have some kind of band thing happening for youth, i'd be glad to learn whatever instrument(s) to fill in, do background vocals, maybe even take up drumkit - there's a joke in there, folks - but if nothing else, it'll be a good experience for all involved.

i don't know at the moment why we should have a band... or if we need it... but i don't see why we shouldn't, either. if anyone's interested, or knows someone who might be, yeah... speak up.

I'm probably going to regret this, and have a deathfight with Josh over it, but I'll take lead vocals.

yeah, i remember. does anyone know about the drumkit in the musicians section, whether we can use it?

i've been eyeing it off for quite some time.

as for vocals, none of us blokes have a great voice suited to that style, i mean, i can yell and i can do a good baritone, but i'm limited to that... as for the girls, they never really sing with any um, seriousness or something, on their own, whereas me an walters can just randomly bust out a baritone 'row, row, row your boat' in perfect two part harmony in the middle of an english class...

Nope, drumkits off limits. Some random guy who doesnt even go to our church owns it, won't let anyone use it though.

I remember the old guy who used to play them!! He was cool Cool .

oh cool, i know the guy that owns it then. should be simple from there on...

that'll be jonno's dad, i'm not far off being furniture at his place, and if i'm taking drumming lessons from him at the same time he should be cool with us/me using them...

more about jonno, hypothetically, if i were to get married right now, he'd be a shoe-in for best man... but he's gonna go learn hebrew in Israel come May, so the rules could change from there.

yes, those rules. the one's we don't know yet... but we'll be fine! i get the feeling God wants this to happen...

Youth on Thursday.

Not sure that everyone got the email from Stevie, so I'm just passing along the message. Everyone know about the Praise and Worship night we have every second Thursday?

(Anyway, we have a Praise and Worship night every second Thursday night, if you wanted to know.)

So yeah. We're changing it into a Youth Marathon. We're going to start at 2pm, go to 9pm. Anyone that thinks theyre up for it, come! You can come at any time I think, if we're not there than we're either at Hungry Jacks or the chip shop.

Bring some money if you want Hungry Jacks or/and hot chips, because apparantly Stephen isn't made of money (grumble grumble). If you think you'll get hungry in between, bringing snacks and drinks would be a good iea. But remember, sharing is caring! Very Happy

Anyone has any questions, either ask Stevie or ask someone that can relay the message to Stevie.

Ok, now I realised my writing skills suck, so I'm just going to copy the email that Stevie wrote.

to all my homeys out there, HAPPY EASTER

on this thursday, i.e. in 4 days from now, the youth are having its scheduled praise and worship night. The night begins at 7pm and goes through til 9pm.

For those who are especially keen, a few of us are deciding to turn this session into a "marathon" going from 2pm through to 9pm at the normal place. This gives us time to wake up and have breakfast (COUGH...Shane) before it starting. You are all invited and if you have any songs (christian only!!)that you think might be a good idea bring them, (EXcluding HEAVY METAL, Neilsen). If all of you could bring some money, no more than $5 to $10 each, to cover lunch/teatime expenses, because regardless of what you some of you may think, I am not made of money (COUGH...Penny). We'll probably be having Hungry Jacks for lunch and chips for tea, so if you're buying a meal from Hungry Jacks, you'll need extra money. I suggest that you eat before coming so that all you might buy would be a drink and save yaself some money. I won't have the car so i can't pick people up or drop people off if they get bored, which of course won't happen. If you come at sometime after 2pm and no one is home we are wither at HJacks or the shop down the road.

If its gonna rain we'll have to figure something out.

For those who are interested the new Planetshaker album has been announced and will be released (it says published, I assume it means the same thing) in June 2007. It has all the good songs on it including "Praise Him" and is $29.95 (CD/DVD) from koorong and $34.95 for the DVD.

Thanks guys and hopefully see you thursday
Stephen

You need to come to Pring St for one night and you'll see why, it's amazing!

Yeah I was harping on about the band a while back but it only seemed that it was me wanting it so I couldn't really get it to happen for the youth group, we need people to play stuff, maybe I should try extra hard to get my brother and his friends saved Razz.

And I can't wait for youth marathon!!!

I really think it would be great to see you all baptised in my pool, but, theres 3 reasons why it may not be a good idea.

1. The disgusting state of my pool at this moment. If you do get baptised in it, youll be the last ones EVER in my pool, because we're draining it in a couple of days.

2. It's freezing in my pool.

3. The dangerous things that tend to hang around my pool.

But yeah, other than all that, I actually would love to see it happen, no sarcasm there.
