biblically, the person doing the baptising can be any christian, though i'm not sure if the baptist needs to be baptised themselves...

ideally it'd be someone from your own church-group.

That's the way it is done isnt it?? By a trusted member of the church "family". Correct me if I am wrong, Jesus was baptised by his brother???

elizabeth(?) made john-baptist, mary made jesus.

Today.

I thought today was great!! People who came: Me, Elle, Nielsen, Stevie, Chris S, Josh, Shane, Elliot, Norman, Walters for a bit, and then Robert at night!

Oh. And Steve and Vicki and Mr Wilson, which was good too!

We got there at 2, but unfortunately the boys didn't have enough brain power to figure out the sound equipment. An hour later and they still had no idea. I knew what was wrong of course, they just didn't notice.. uh, it wasn't plugged in. #1 rule of checking why something isn't working.

We watched a Reggie Dabbs DVD, and it was really sad.. but really good too. Then, we finally got some singing done, which was great as it usually is. Haha, Mr Wilson still doesn't know the words to Majesty..

Then Mr Wilson talked to us about water baptism. Walters went home, and then the rest of us went up to my house and Josh, Elliot and Norman were baptised in my green and icky pool. (Pics later, if anyone wants..) It was good, except Dad chased me round and threw a bucket of water on my head. Thanks, Dad.

After this, me and Elle ran down the road trying to catch the pinky orangy sunset, but it went down too quickly. Darn you! So yeah, we went to Hungry Jacks and overtook the place with our loud voices etc. Elliot had milk and cookies Razz .

We (me, Elle, Stevie and Elliot) walked back to the church in the dark, and we came across some gansta homie doods, and as we walked past them, Elliot said 'Sup.' So one of the guys stood up and started yelling at Elliot "Oh you tryhard! I'd come and jump you in a second you ****head! You many other swearwords here." Him and Stevie laughed, but me and Elle were too scared they were gonna kill us (Talk about a flashback. I'm gonna have nightares about that prank forever Chris..).

Yes, so we came back to church and stuffed our faces with gummy bears from aldi, and then worshipped! I loved it, thought it was great. Then Vicki gave the word, which was fantastic, I'd summarise it but I'm tired.

But yeah, I went home and told Dad that I faked being sick earlier this year.. He was a little disappointed, but he didn't pull out a steak knife and stab me like I imagined Surprised .

So I'm happy.

Other people might not agree, I dunno. But I thought it was fun.

i'm glad i got dunked, even though it was freezing i get the feeling it means alot somehow, i can't quite put my finger on what exactly.

but yeah, that was classic with the bucket of water, for a moment there i thought you'd gone out of range, but the huge cloud thing of wet just followed you by magic, that was Lol. and penny, remember, you started it!

Did not! Razz

He wet me with the water gun, so I wet him with the water gun, so he threw the bucket of water on me. Gosh, i was sure it wasn't going to hit me. I was waiting for the splash, it was like 2 seconds later than I was expecting..

EDIT: Oh, and I didn't steal your gummy bears. I stole MY gummy bears, which might've been Elle's gummy bears, but its all fair because everyone else ate my whole first packet!!

I WENT!
It was great!

We started out with some games, and most people were dressed in their 70's gear. We played like, this puzzle game, and this newspaper game, and this rubbish game. Oh and people wanted to play soccer, so they did.

After that we had a P & W session. I hadn't ever seen anything like it. I ended up bursting into tears half way through. I didn't know a couple of songs, so I stood back and watched everyone. Everyone was just so into it. It felt a little uncomfortable for me because I'm really not a fan of the whole public thing, like I've said once before.. I tried though.. but it still felt weird.

I'm trying really hard to just let Him in. I still feel held back though... I'm not sure why exactly, I think I just need some more time for that.

We all sat in a circle and Vicki gave us a handout with scriptures on it. It'll be hard for me to explain it.. I'll let someone else field that one.

And yea.. after that we were allowed to eat. I didn't eat though. I was already full from when Mum cooked some really yummy fried rice when I was at Shane's.

Unfortunately, I was trying to get over the flu while I was at Youth. I felt fine, except I had developed a cough during the day... Little Robert then sprinkled glitter on me and it got in my lungs 'cause I didn't know he was doing it until I looked up. So I had a big cough over that...

Oh yea and.... BILLY CAME TO YOUTH! Everyone was pretty happy to see him.. I tried to be. When he walked in, I called him over, but he ignored me. So I was like "K then.. Rolling Eyes SHAFTED". Later on though, he came over to us and realized that it was me, and was like "OMG I DIDN'T RECOGNIZE YOU ect."

I laughed because he looks and sounds different. And he looked like he had a sultana on his lip. But hey. ROFL!

I'm definitely going to youth again. I talked to Vicki about the events that are going to be happening, and yea.. I just need that youth planner or whatever it is... To know what's going to be happening... and money and stuff. I feel like donating a billion dollars to help with EVERYTHING in youth. The new building, the sponsored child Sazzie(that's her name right?) and yea... just everything. Hehe.

I was really pleased with how youth went. I wanted to see Chris, Benny and Wilkins there, though. I'm not sure how odd this'll sound, but when I talk to Wilkins about stuff, or hear his stories about things he's experienced... I feel empowered. YOU EMPOWER ME WILKINS!

Like when you told me that story of when you yelled out, "NEVER AGAIN!" It just felt good hearing it.

I'm not ready for prayer sessions and all that yet, I'm just content with going to plain old youth for now.

And that concludes my... recap? of youth. Yaya!

i went to morning prayer sessions for a long time, i didn't get involved spiritually, rather i just sat back and took mental notes.

the result? i learned how to pray. how to not get all tongue-tied. how valuable a solid base of scripture is for solid, authoritative prayer.

i wouldn't be able to pray out loud at youth if it weren't for that, i'd be too self conscious... my dad has always said to me that life is a road, and if you want to get anywhere you need to go through gates... if you don't go through the gate, you can't advance anymore that way.

the road i'm on leads to me being a powerful man of god, and it's a long way off... but i've been through a number of gates, and learning to pray in a group was one of them.

That's what I am now. Too self-conscious. It was the same with the praise and worship thing we did at youth... I did it, but it felt uncomfortable because I wasn't sure of what I should do and whether I would look silly doing it.

you look silly, that's part of why you do it. to signify to god that you've overcome shame of Him, shame of worshipping Him. and it doesn't really matter, the rest of us all do it... and we're not gonna judge you either way.

Just be glad that you came Very Happy .

Yeah don't worry about the feeling weird, all of us did, I mean it was bad enough for me the first time I sat down at youth and sang songs about God, and back in the day the only ones of us that actually meant the words were the leaders, so yeah don't worry about that, it'll come, I'm still growing in my praise/worship, apparently I'm getting nominated for 'Best Mosher' at Pring St Razz .

When you come to God there is a lot you need to get used to, it will take the time, you just need to be there to experience it, hence the whole trying to get you to come to youth.

By the way, now that you've been to youth and think it's great, are you thankful that we nagged you for a bit? It's Ok if you aren't, even I realised we were a bit harsh, but yeah just wondering.

No problem Eliza. The best thing YOU can do is learn and take heed from the stuff I have told you. It's like the ANZACS, and the crap they went through so we can have betterer lives. I go through crap, so I teach you. So you dont need to go through what I did.

...thats it

i get alot of inspiration out of military histories... but off of that, youth and stuff. on sunday night me, norman, wilkins are staying at my place, others may rendesvous later and then disband, but we're gonna go to the school and pray for it. pray for everything... and late, so we'll have the run of the place.

if you're interested, first (and last) RSVP to stay at my place gets to share a queen-size mattress with wilkins.

i should make it clear that we'll be going pretty deep, hopefully get us some combat. if it gets to that point, and it probably will, i don't need any civilians on my hands... i only need soldiers.

Youth, youth, youth. That was a great night.

I was really tired and sunburnt from wrestling that day, but I got a lot of energy from being in a house of God. Playing the games was fun, but I ended up pulling out of dodgeball. Ahaha, I don't like getting hit with balls, I've been hit way too many times in the face for my liking. Smile

The praise & worship session was absolutely fantastic. Unlike last time, I wasn't compelled to do what everyone else was doing. I felt comfortable just doing my own thing. I jumped around with people for a while, but then decided to sit up against the door on my own and just connect with the Lord privately. Norman and Wilkins were sitting near me, and Norman was praying so loud, so powerfully. I got up and sat next to Wilkins and held his hand. Norman then jumped straight up, and moved around to sit next to me, then grabbed my hand, and started praying even more. He prayed for me and I started to cry. And he was grabbing my hand so tightly. Then something scary happened, something I'd never ever heard in my life. He was speaking in tongues! I didn't know what to do, so I just sat there. He was twitching and shaking and holding my hand even tighter.

Wilkins then left, and Elliot came and sat down and held my hand in his place. It felt so great with the atmosphere and everything. I heard someone else (I think it was Steve) speaking in tongues too. But I'm curious guys.. is it a good or bad thing when you speak in tongues? 'Cause it's really scary... I was freaking out in my head.

After that, we did our bible study stuff. Bloody Elliot threw a shoe at Norman, but it bounced off the wall and hit me in the head. I heard Norman say "blood" and I was like "crap". You know when you unexpectedly get hurt? It's not just the pain that makes you cry, it's the shock. But yea, Steven ran over with an ice-pack (a bit of a fuss..) and made me put it on my head, and checked for blood. Rolling Eyes Vicki told me to put it on my head too so I "wouldn't get a lump". I ALREADY HAD A LUMP. Lol.

So yea, Vicki had a great lesson to teach us. And I took it in. She wants us all to be happy because the Lord wants us to. I want to be happy. As hard as it is for me at times. (See my blog for post on positivity, lmao)

After youth, Benny invited me to Maccas. So I asked dad, and he said yes, but then hung up on me. Woops. As Ben and I were walking to the car, I just started crying. But I sucked it up and got in the car. We had fun with Shane at Maccas, and Ben's mum was talking to us. She gave me some helpful advice and even some leads to help with what I want to be when I grow up. I've always wanted to be a performer, but my dad just wants me to do something brainy.. The creative side of my brain is the side I want to use though. I've loved music and performing my entire life, and as much as I'm not very skilled with reading music, I still can do things by ear. Just like my big brother, and now my little brother, I have a knack for music. Ben's mum made me feel really good by saying that I should disregard my dad's wishes at this point, because it's my dream and it's what the Lord wants me to do. Also, I've started brainstorming ideas to write a Christian song. Smile

So yea, I came home, and Ben's mum made him walk me to the door for some reason, lmao.

Ben - you've been an exceptional friend to me lately. You've been supporting me the whole time, and I just wanna say how thankful I am. It's always good to know you're only around the corner if I need to get away from the house for a few hours.

While I'm here, I might as well mention a few others:

Elliot, Chris and Wilkins - you've also been there for me through the tough times this week. Elliot, your spontaneous hugs amuse me, thanks, ahaha. They make me feel loved. Wilkins, you're definitely going to be my big brother forever, I bloody love you man. And Chris, I'm trying to think of how to word things but it's difficult. So I'll just be simplistic. Just thanks for everything in general.

And Norman has been pretty good to me as well, but he doesn't come on here much... So shut up Norman. Ahaha. No.

I guess that wraps it up kinda briefly. I won't go into specific detail with every movement, word and such. Ahaha.

Ciao.

last night was great... wilkins farted alot, i urinated maybe four times, and norman got slain twice.

yes, twice, i know... but i got owned too, which was lol.

i won't bore you all with the rest of the details, but hey, people got slain in the spirit, experienced an utterance of tongues (mine, first ever!) and actually saw into th supernatural, as in with eyes... all this great stuff happened at school. our school.

everything we used to laugh at bundamba for, it's broken... brecht, even.

Hey, sorry for the double post, but I was thinking maybe at the sleepover on friday we could have a little prayer time? Just say so if you all think its a dumb idea, but .. yeah. I don't think there's a prayer time beforehand.
