ideas for youth at vision, including midweek meetings, ministry to unsaved folk that go to it, and the thing at school...

for the thing at school, i think we need to make sure that, because it's mostly our group, that other folk don't feel like like they need to break into anything. because they may very well see us as a unit, rather than a group of likeminded christians... and i think we need to get the soft sort of worship music that's good to be prayed to/over.

the one's that showed up on friday were serious, they weren't there for screwing around or any of that, even me and penny coming in late, on the run from the law, went straight into it... i at least could immediately tell the depth of what was happening. i think it's a good idea to keep that group in its current form of leadership structure, ie. none.

any ideas for any of our meeting things would be appreciated, and i'll give them a great deal of thought and where relevant try and pass them onto vicki.

I'm sorry I was not able to make it yesterday. I had cricket training. And yes, I will give it much thought too. Perhaps let Norman's mates, that Alatria band in for a little gig during a lunch time or something. Cause the style of music appeals to a fair few people at the school...

I did, the only thing I heard ONCE was "Christian Support group, if you're interested go see them at K block at first break."

Didn't get around to going.

that reminds me of something Ps Geoff jeff said awhile back, that the day you're not at church may well be the day god has something amazing for you. i took that to apply to everything, from the day you go visiting without a lighter to the day you don't listen to the notices.

if you don't pay attention, you WILL miss opportunities...

but that's not railing on eliza, that's just expanding on chris' lesson.

lunchtime youth is basically it, but without any of those nasty restrictions/denominations/anything really. so people are able to give messages, request prayer for anything, ask for records to be played, the sort of thing that if wished to have/do at youth first need an application form, requested one week in advance, in triplicate and signed by two witnesses of the agreement. [/beaurocracy]

Can you please reinterate that for me? Is the whole application form thing for 'lunchtime youth' or weekend youth?

Ohh... I'm using this account because I want my 3000th post to be on something good.

well... if anyone's tried to get anything done, before the groundbreaking event of when josh/lukas/whatever did songs on camp and it kicked arse, at normal youth, it was hard to get everything past the paperwork stage.

hence, lunchtime youth! play songs that vicki normally wouldn't allow (that's for you, wilkins, though in moderation), do up messages if you feel something important needs to be said, that sort of thing.

norman, when eventually you get back on here, this means that you don't need to spit the same passages at poor me and penny everytime you get a single new person that may need to hear it... you can just slug everyone with it at the same time, if God's put it on your heart to have people (other than you) hear it.

but yeah, because it's gonna be basically lead itself, it enables people to make their own decisions, say halfway through song time that they've got something to share, do it, no fuss. because fuss is shit when god is concerned...

vision church, sundays, is doing a few weeks on david and goliath. i think it's relevant here as an example; saul never asked david to take home public liability forms before allowing him to face the giant... he just saw his faith in god, and let him go.

but i don't really care... because faith can't really be measured. it's the duty of the church to protect us from false teachers, just another case of having to suck it up...

Toilet paper on the head was always funny.

Anyway, yobs aside, does everyone (that wants to go) know about the Thursday night praise and worship time?

thursday night, 7-9.

should be great, tryin to get that jacqui to come too.

i was never that keen on games at youth... that panic one was fun though, what with blurting out random things to put norman off, then putting myself off quite deliberately.
